Buena Vista Social Club is a 1999 documentary film directed by Wim Wenders about the music of Cuba, featuring the musicians who recorded the 1996 album Buena Vista Social Club.
Although they are geographically close, travel between Cuba and the United States is restricted due to the political tension between the two countries, so many of the artists were travelling there for the first time. The film shows their reactions to this experience, as well as including footage of the resultant sell-out concerts. It also includes interviews with each of the main performers. |

Substack is just another Social Media outlet but it focuses on
essays, prose, poetry and other arts... You can subscribe for free
and get alot of good content... There's less political/social banter
here and not much personal chit chat which describes the
difference. You can see about half my posts (essays, poems, short
stories, and some art) free, otherwise it's 5 bucks a month or 50
bucks a year for the whole shabang and comment access. Hope
to see you there! |
