Preface: This is a game, but many learners cannot distinguish between

¡°yes/no¡±  question structures and cannot use them properly¡¦ So¡¦

 

This can be seen as an ¡°Activity¡± related to grammar¡¦ See a) through e) below

 

1) One person (the ¡°master¡±) chooses a noun from any topic

 

Possible Topics: Animals/Things in the room/Things in the world

Places/Food/People (famous or occupations)/Other

 

2) The master tells the players which topic is chosen...

Then writes the noun choice (secretly) on a piece of paper

 

 

3) The players use Yes/No Question Types: Is/ Does/ Can

 

a) Is it¡¦ + adjective/prepositional phrase

    black/tall/fat/beautiful/smart/fast/dangerous/funny/useful

    in this room/at a coffee shop/in front of you/in your home

  

b) Does it¡¦ + verb

     eat meat/live in a zoo/climb trees/attack people

 

c) Does it have¡¦ + (adjective) noun

     big ears/horns/four legs/hot drinks/raw fish/many beaches

 

d) Can it¡¦ + verb

     swim/fly/catch mice/live in cold places/make loud sounds

 

e) Can we¡¦ + verb

     eat it/buy it/cook with it/drive it/write with it/play it

 

4) The winner guesses the noun and becomes the ¡°master¡±

 

English verbs can be tricky¡¦ have fun and learn the verbal questions
